Coarse Ore Bin Liner System

Category: Fixed plant wear solutions

Challenge: The bin was lined with rail mats built from reclaimed rail. As used rail became scarce, new rail raised costs and reduced wear performance. Each mat had to be replaced in full, even when wear was localised, and every change-out was a heavy lift.

Solution: We kept the proven rock box principle and redesigned everything around it. The new system has plate steel support mats carrying replaceable wear billets, with horizontal plates aligned to the material flow from the crusher. A purpose-built lifting jig holds each assembly in the right orientation during installation.

Result: Measured wear was 30.76% after 786 days of operation. At the verified rate of 35,873 tonnes per day, projected wear at ten years is about 68%, and structural liner life is projected beyond seven years.
