COB Pentice Liner Improvements

Challenge: The long-serving pentice liner didn’t provide the wear life needed to meet shutdown schedules and was difficult to replace once worn. Its many parts left large gaps between liners, causing premature wear.
Solution: After reviewing the installation and its wear patterns, we redesigned the liner with more usable thickness. The new assembly has fewer components, orientated so that no gaps are exposed to the ore flow. We supplied the redesigned liners and a fabricated pentice frame, along with a purpose-built lifting frame for installation and removal.
Result: The review, design and supply were completed on time and on budget, ready for installation during the next planned outage.
